Research Associate (f/m) - Digital audio signal processing

Do you have an ear for music and are you interested in state-of-the-art audio coding methods?

In that case, this is the perfect job for you!
You will design perceptual audio coding algorithms as well as algorithms for audio signal processing and develop these further. In addition, you will create customer-ready software libraries for audio coding on PC platforms and work on the international standardization of new methods.

The research team for audio and media technologies has been working on audio and image coding as well as multimedia technologies for more than 25 years, and made a name for itself due to its significant contribution to the development of mp3 and AAC.
Fraunhofer audio technologies can be found in more than ten billion devices and has already been licensed by more than 1,000 companies.

What we expect from you

  • Successfully completed university degree in a scientific subject
  • Profound know-how of the programming languages C/C++ and MATLAB
  • Prior knowledge of digital audio signal processing
  • Good English skills for the work as part of an international team
