With its SHORE software library, Fraunhofer IIS licenses one of the most advanced software technologies for face detection and analysis to users around the world. Our customers and license holders are in market research, the automotive sector, robotics, advertising, security technology and many other industries. They use our AI-based algorithms to e.g. enable empathic human-machine interaction or tailor advertising for target groups.

We are looking to quickly hire a software engineer to maintain and further develop our global software solution. You will work closely with the other team members to implement concepts, architectures and algorithms for image-based face recognition and analysis. We will expect you to contribute your own ideas and skills while also benefiting from the expertise and experience of your colleagues. During implementation, you will be responsible for quality, reusability, documentation and test coverage. You will apply computing-intensive algorithms in C++ and tap into the flexibility of scripting languages to execute program sequences.

What we expect from you

  • A degree in a technical field or demonstrable experience in developing large-scale software projects
  • Outstanding knowledge of C++, software architecture and a scripting language such as Lua or Python
  • Experience working with continuous integration and build systems such as CMake and Jenkins, and familiarity with image processing and machine learning are a plus
  • A structured, independent and reliable way of working
